What Are ATCs?

“ATC” stands for “Artist Trading Card.” ATCs are super fun mini works of art that you and your friends can make and trade. Here’s how:

1. Cut a 2.5 inch by 3.5 inch card. Size is important. You can buy the cards already cut, or cut them yourself from cardstock paper. (Click here to see a diagram.)
2. Make it beautiful. Decorate or draw on the front of your ATC with colored pencils, crayons, markers, paints, magazine pages, or almost any craft supply you can think of – even objects you’ve found on a walk!
3. Write your first name and the date on the back. You can also add a title and the URL of your blog if you’d like.
4. Trade your ATCs! (But never sell them.)

Now that you know the rules, start designing your own ATCs with colored pencils, crayons, markers, paints, magazine pages, or almost any craft supply you can think of, even objects you’ve found on a walk!
